Buckingham Palace is over 300 years old and is the official London residence of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, serving as both home and office. It is open to the public from mid-August until the end of September. This is the official London residence of the Queen and you can visit the magnificent State Rooms, where over the centuries, the wealthy and the powerful have walked.
The Changing of the Guards is performed daily in summer and on alternate days in winter at 11:30. A new troop of the Queen's personal bodyguards, The Brigade of Guards, march from either Chelsea or Wellington Barracks to relieve the guards at Buckingham Palace.
